I built a coupe, (it's #41 in the header above) and had no issue with access to dash internals as I made the top of the dash removable. How do you get to all the internals under a roadster dash? I only ask as I'm considering getting/building a roadster.

Coupe build photos if interested....

The MkIV body hangs down over the dash some so, if you put screws right at the top edge the body will capture the dash. There have been several methods used to move the screws down about an inch. One of the easiest is a short piece of 1/16x1 inch aluminum angle. Screw it to the bottom of the dash hoop and run screws through the dash and into the other side of the angle. There have been some guys who bond the angle piece to the dash so the mount screws are not seen because they go through the engle into the bottom of the hoop.

I welded the L-brackets to the dash and bolted it to the underside of the hoop as Craig said. Works great and no exposed screws showing on the dash.
