What is the largest rim and tire size that can used with the stock LCA?

How about the larger rear wheel well on the MKIII?

Regards?

Check out F5R's web site for proper backspacing, I have 17x9 fronts and 17x10.5 rears. I'm mounting 255 40 17 fronts and 315 35 17 rears. I know guys are running 275's on front but that size is known to throw more stones.

I think the 8" wheels with a 245-45 work the best with stock donor LCA's. You can run 9's but they will rub the LCA under full lock. I too am running 255-40's and 315-35s on my car with SN95 spindles and hubs and a Fox width rear with 3 link. I had to do some mods to get them to fit in the back but I have a Mark 1 so yours affords a little more room. Its up to you what you want to go with, 245/275 combo is safe 255 or 275's front and 315 rears look great but require a little more effort in the fitment. Doable no doubt, you just have to decide if its worth your effort. HTH

The FFR website is not totally correct. It has been our experience that if used the tires will rub when using the FFR backspacing.

The Fronts will take a 17X9 with 255 or 275 both 40s. Like YMN stated the 275s throw more rocks, the rears will take a 10.5 with a 315/35s. 15s are totally different. HTH, Cheers Richard.
