that's what I do if in clearcoat as well. if you have a solid color, not metallic or pearl, it's easy. just fill in the chip with the correct color in a single stage like the touchup pens that the dealer sells. you will have to fill a little , let it dry, colorsand, then fill again. the object is to bring the chip/scratch up to surface level with the paint. once that is achieved, you can polish it out. if it's a metallic or pearl, call a pro, as you will never be able to make it perfect. car dealers have guys that come around and air brush the used cars, you may be able to get one to give you the name of who does theirs, and it's pretty cheap. usually $100-$200 to clean up a front end with a dozen or so chips. cheers, SRP
