Repairing Paint Scratches

Fortunately this topic isn't in reference to my Cobra, but I have a few on another I'd like to fix.

So here's my Q, is there a good DIY technique to repairing scratches, both minor and more serious ones (chips and such).

Any good web sites outlining these?

For minor scratch, I use 1500 or 2000 grit wet sand to smooth out the clear coat (without going through!!) and then follow with 3m Compound designed to remove 1500 grit scratches. Then "show car glaze" This only works if the scratch is only in the clear (usually looks like a "white" scratch mark). Be careful and use light pressure and go slow.
