Okay guys,
I am seriously considering putting a new engine in my car and am interested in what the better shops are that everyone has delt with and thier opinions? I want to stay with the 351w based engine, something stroked. Just looking for input right now.

Todd,
I have a friend that is probably the best engine builder I know.
He builds motors for race boats, race cars. I went for a ride in a 43' Scarab that did 117 mph. It had triple 1050hp's
He even put mine together for me on my Cobra.

He built a engine for his Nova that Dynoed at 930 hp. natural aspirated. Made his own tunnel ram. etc.etc.

He is also an EXCELLENT problem solver.

I will run your problem buy him and see what he has to say.

Larry,
I have a new 302 carb'd engine that will be started for the first time in a few weeks. I wonder if I could pay your friend to come help with the first start? I'd like to have someone there that knows engines well as I've heard of guys with badly setup carb's running way rich or struggling to start the car. Since the first 20 minutes are crucial to correct cam break-in I'd like to get it right.

At this point I will accept help from almost anyone who is willing to give it. Sounds like your friend is one that would be worth talking to or seeing. I know that I can't be that far off with this engine but boy this is just discouraging me beyond no compare.
