i got my rearend drained and pulled off the backplate. something appears to have been broken inside, i've never seen one before but i assume it is the spidergears.it is a sn95 with 3.27 gears, the local shop said they will break it down and freshen it up for $150. plus parts. im concerned about possibly having to put alot of money in it, especially if i want 3.55 gears installed also.so my question is simple , how much for a new rearend? i've seen a couple people mention they went this route. also this rearend was given to me , so i have no cost in it. vince

Hi Vince,
I had my rearend don't by a local guy last fall and it sounds like about the same deal. $150 for labor plus parts. My parts ran about $225 for FMS 3.55 gears a worn shaft and clutch disks. I don't know if this helps but it sounds reasonable.

It's worth it!

A new rear end from Ford Racing will be $750-800. Call Five Star Ford they are giving FFcobra.com members a discount. Go to the vendor link.
