I have begun the body work on FFR3471 and would like to prime and sand to prepare it for the painter. After much internal debate, I have opted to have it professionally painted and not buy a compressor. Someone here said to use good old rattle can primer. What brand is best?

If you do, your painter will probably chew you out, and he definately will know you're a novice at the body/paint side of the build.

Okay, so what is a novice to do? I got the spray paint suggestion from the FAQ here.

I believe most rattle can primers are laquers and most paints today are Urathane, so that stops you right then and there.

You should talk to the guy who's going to paint it and ask what your options are. Like Grumpy said, Painters like to know what they are painting on and what is underneath.
