Have a small leak in rad seam, between plastic end and core, seems to leak when there is no pressure only, going to try to thghten crimp, but if it doesn't work want to get a new rad, so what is the better choice, aluminum, or brass?

Is it leaking along the passenger side? I am having a similar issue with my brass radiator.

I think the rigid mounting is part of the problem.

I just put an All Pro aluminum in mine and love it! Bought it at a local radiator shop for under $300.

Use a JB Weld stick. Supposed to work under water. It might actually work, it's cheap, and doesn't take long.

...if you're still building, go for the FFR rad. A very decent rad, tailored to the FFR installation for just $220.
