Thinking of putting some sort of screen in front of the radiator to protect it from rocks and such.
I've seen pics of some cars that look like they have added something along those lines.
I was looking at the SS screen at Pit Stop USA.
Here is a link- http://www.pitstopusa.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=1123
They have it in 1/8",3/16", and 5/64" mesh.
Anyone have a suggestion which size to get?
I'm afraid of going too small and blocking airflow too much.
Thanks.

I used 1/4" SS heavy wire mesh. I think I got mine from Pegasus.

To protect the radiator, you can't just lay the wire on the core. Blunt force will be transmitted directly to the core. I took some 3/4" alum edging and bolted it to the front of the radiator, from top to bottom directly in the middle. The screen is rivited to the channel, and siliconed to the side of the radiator. That seperates the mesh from the core by about 1/4-1/2".

I built this rock guard from stainless mesh from Pegasus Racing, it has an aluminum frame and is held to the radiator with torx screws and rivet nuts. The frame holds the mesh 3/4" away from the radiator.
