FelPro's cyl. head gasket instructions say you have to use new head bolts when replacing head gasket, WHY? (of course nobody local has them either:( )

if its a stock motor and the bolts look ok just re use them. the bolts will stretch when re torqued. your local repair shop doesn't replace them every time due to $$....mike

I think you will find that the factory head bolts are torque-to-yield, meaning they are one time use only.

I think it is false economy to re-use these fasteners.

You might consider upgrading to ARP fasteners. I am sure they make head studs, not sure about head bolts.
