Does the bender require heating the metal prior to applying the bolt pressure?

I have a guy who can make one for around $50 but he thought that heat would be required for such a device (pictured in separate thread) to work with tempered pedal metal.

No heat required, and my pedal was not tempered, as I cut right through it with a hack saw with no problems. Pete

If you can remove the pedals from the pedal box, simply put them in a vice and use a large monkey wrench for leverage and bend. Took me about 20 seconds to bend both the clutch and brake pedals.

Thanks all. My pedals are in the car so I'll have the tool made and send it out to all when I am done.

I'm in Texas....anyone know where the pedal bender for this region is? And anyone know of a post/pic where the pedals are bent correctly (to work from...I am just preparing a box...don't have a kit yet).

Thanks!
