if i don't have the MKII, can i still use those new arms? since they are adjustable, can i close up the slots in my frame(weld them shut with a plate or something more ingenious) and have 2 regular holes for the bolts and adjust the alignment with the arms?

am i making any sense or do i have to explain myself better?

thanks

Prior to the MkII kits, they were offered as an option. They can be used in older kits

When I installed them, I centered them in the slots. The alignment guy moved them a little bit to appropriately use the adjustability of the arms themselves. I have 400 miles so far and they have not moved at all.

However, I am looking to have the bottom bolts tac welded in place

I believe the recommended method is to mount them to the outside of the slots. This gives more aggressive camber throughout the suspension travel by keeping the UCA shorter. It also leaves a little more room for adjustment of the UCAs around the coilovers.

Luis, next time you see my car don't bend over and look at my rear end, instead I'll let you look under my bonnet. I installed a set on 2755 and it is probably one of the best additions I've done. Alignment is a snap. I kept them to the outside of the slot and after the alignment I'll run a small weld along the inside edge so the bolts will never move again.

By the way those sidepipes are outstanding, nice job.

chris.
