I've installed my Mustang pedal box (Mk II kit) and everything lined up fine. I then attached the Mustang master cylinder and went to attach the push rod to the master cylinder. When I did this the push rod seems way too long to attach to the post on the brake pedal. Even when I put all three spacers behind the master cylinder (which moves the cylinder toward the front of the car) I'm still a little off and cannot attach the push rod to the post on the brake pedal. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure all peices have been removed from the push rod. It should be one continous peice of steel. No swivels or aluminum fitting hanging off the end.
Mike
Mike is right the rod has to be clean or any foreign material. Only the ball on the end is part of the casting. The rod has to be very straight to go into the MC. We have had to take the pedal bolt loose and rotate it a little to get the pedal and all of the hardware on. Hope this helps. Cheers
Thanks gentlemen. I removed all the extraneous hardware on the pushrod and it fits just fine.
