The two comitted people to help finish the car after my unfortunate accident and subsiquent broken arm cannot make it this saturday and I need the help of the forum members pronto.
Basically this thing is one month overdue and it NEEDS to get done now or it will probably have to be sold as my parents are more than frustrated that this project is not getting done when it is supposed to. I just need a days help from anyone who can turn a wrench. PLEASE PLEASE help, I would really appreceate it. There is a Summit gift certificate in order for anyone that actually shows up on any day. Tell me when you can come and I will be here.
I live near New HAven, CT and I know there are peoploe in CT who are on the forum.

I think your problem is "timing". Let's not forget that this is the PRIME time for guys up in the Northeast to go out in their Cobras. Two or three more weekends and Hello Winter! It's kind of tough to ask guys with a limited season (including much shorter daylight) like this to give up a good weekend day of riding. I'm sure if you could get your folks to understand that in a few weeks, guys will be actively looking to help out, you'll get through this episode.

I can't make it this weekend but can come down on a weekday next week if that would work. I am on vacation until 11/4 but weekends are pretty much filled up. I've put together two of these and helped on quite a few more. Let me know if that will work for you.

The last thing I would do is sell. Is it a space problem with your parents? If things are that critical and you can't get the help right now, maybe you should be looking for a friend with some space you can move the car to.

Time and space are the issues. As long as the car is back from paint in february(takes 8 to 12 weeks) we will be fine. So that means it has to go in by beginning of december at the latest. All I have to do is fit doors, attach hoop temporarily, fit roll bars, fit lights, windshield etc.
I guess it can wait some time weeks but it would just be sitting idle in the garage.

I am a little peeved at the moment as the project is falling apart kindof. Maybe tomorrow after I talk to the painter I can calm down a bit and come up with a more rational solution to the little dilemma at hand. I am sure it has happened before.

What is the current status of your injuries?

What date did you originally injure yourself?

Just wondering, because most fractures require 6-8 weeks to heal. if the cast removal date is coming up soon, you might still have plenty of time to finish.

Broke it 2 weeks ago and this break can take 8 weeks to 6 months depending on how my body works. I broke the worst bone statistically to break in my hand and chipped my ulna. My thumb and complete arm to mid bicep are cast.

I'm a complete newbee but offer to help with any grunt labor needed. Only problem is thatI have a wedding to go to this weekend. MAybe you should just throw out a date in the next two weeks or so and some fairyffrog mothers will show up and get the wheels back on the bus!!!

The thought of learning on your car as I get ready to mount my body is really tempting. Unfortunately, my home was just condemmed for toxic mold - really! I'm going to move tomorrow into a condo and try to figure how to rescue my Cobra. Maybe when things settle down I could help out. In the mean time, I'll be looking for a garage for working and storage. Maybe I could get it big enough for 2 cars and that would take some of the stress off of your situation.

You gotta CHILLAX dude, building these cars is not a race, because missing things and rushing could kill you.anything this and anything that 2002 will be around next year 2003, I'm sure if your parents were freakin that much some one would store your ride for you.

anyway I'm rambling, how far is New Haven from Toronto. I'm going to the cottage this weekend to put away the boats.

Let me know maybe I'll make a road trip to help out in the very near future...

Maybe post these dates and with a good group should be able to finish this off for you. I hope your parents understand your situation and give you some time. Looks like I got some non-FFR help for tomorrow.
For all those who think this can wait, it really cant. This was supposed to be halfway through paint at the moment and it is wayyy behind schedule. I know it sounds crzy but I am building for experience and to drive for a while(year?) then sell.
