Is anyone out there running this combo?

Edelbrock Performer heads with 2.02 valves, stock cam and short block from a 1988 or newer donor, 1.7:1 ratio rocker arms.

I'm wondering two things...Will I have isses with valve/piston clearance? Will the rockers clear stock cast valve covers?

Thanks..Matt

Get your lift at the cam lobe and X by 1.7= Valve gross opening. Most SBF below .475 total lift there should not be any Valve to Piston clearnce problems. The 2.02 valve can sometime have a radius valve notch problem with stock pistons cut for the smaller valves. It is a good ideal to check your valve to piston clearance anytime you play with you valve train. Put on some "TEST Springs" and check your new set-up.

With a 2.02 intake valve on a stock piston, clearance doesn't become an issue until you get to .530 valve lift.

Thanks Gordon... I think my lift will be .473 with the 1.7:1 rockers on a stock 1988 cam.
