OK, I really finished the car in June, but I was kind of depressed because I'd already agreed to sell the car, so I never got around to writing this up. So it's really a 2009 graduation...
I spec'd it out as a rather mild car, and I wouldn't change a thing. No used parts in the car, and my objective was to do every bolt, rivet, wire crimp, and AN fitting myself. All of that is true. The new owner, Rob, was a second pair of hands in the last few weeks, and he laid all the carpet and chose the Aston Martin dark silver color for the Batman to lay down. I like how it turned out:
Some details:
Ford racing 345 HP B-Cam crate Motor
Mass-Flo Injection
TKO-600 with Forte mid-shift
Clutch, Quicktime bellhousing, driveshaft from Forte
3-Link rear (geez, FFR, make a upper link bracket that fits!)
Team III Wheels
Mustang GT brake kit from FFR
From Breeze
*****************
Radiator Kit EzePack (added polished aluminum overflow tank - hate the plastic Ford tank)
Horn Kit
Steering rack (Unisteer)
Front battery (why doesn't everyone use this??)
Fuel tank EzePack
Motor mounts, trans mount
Driver's side alternator
Engine pullies
Starter kit
Seat mounts (pain to adjust, but best solution I've seen for metal frame seats)
**************************
Autometer Ultralite guages
Ron Francis harness (sooo easy...)
Earl's AN fittings and hose for all fuel and oil lines (zero leaks!!!)
Many thanks to the members of this forum. I was always confident I would find answers here no matter how obscure the question. Thanks also to Mike Forte and Mark Reynolds - what great resources, and of course to Jeff Miller for body and paint that's a step above the rest.
Special thanks to frankeeski for the loan of the trailer to take the car to Batman, and to DarrenT for the body buck, and so many of the SoCal builders for moral support.
I'll build another someday, but my next project will be different so I can learn a bunch of new stuff...
Mark
