There appears to be two different size pillow blocks in the kit...Which one goes where???and does it matter which way they face???

the small one is for the upper shaft assemly, the other is for the lower shaft in the engine compartment.

The assembly manual indicates that the front pillow block should have the locking collar on the front side of the bearing. I couldn't find where the manual says which direction to place the collar on the rear pillow block. I placed it on the back side toward the steering wheel.

Which means that both bearing collars must be in front of their respective pillow block??? I want to be certain that I understand.

I agree - the manual is very clear on the lower pillow block, and completely silent on the upper.

That's the way I did it. Both bearing locks on the front of the car side of the pillow block Mike and I used the same logic on this one.
