Thanks for posting the pictures. My wife and I were thinking pretty hard about driving up to meet all of you. If you do this trip next year, we will plan for it.

The story line:

Each year a new 3 day cobra trip is planned & driven, this year our club Pres. TerryH put this one together, thanks TerryH.

We started out from Landmark Ford where we have our meetings. From left to right in first picture is: SteveP, JulieP, LizH, TerryH, MikeS, JamesB (kneeling), Lindy, ButchB, JanieS. Next photo is sans JamesB, with addition of my daughter, AshleyB. See Butch's photos in original post of the cars. Not shown is GreggW who drove his cool Mustang Convert. to Lincoln city to see us off.

Weather was perfect for the cars, being a bit cool but nice. First stop was the 101 burger in south Lincoln City (see butch's post). 101 got you one patty, one cheese, tomatoes etc, 202, got you 2 patties, 2 cheeses, 303, 404 you get the drift.

We drove hard friday as our destination was 240 miles away at Port Orford. No problems, we just used up gas & scenery running down Hwy 101 to our hotel, Castaway by the Sea, located overlooking the Port of Port Orford, each room had an excellent view...

We dined at the RedFish Rest., nice place, upscale food...Morning came & we were greeted with a little evening rain on our cars but a clearing sky.

Next destination was to be Crescent City. At one of our "comfort" stops a taxi driver informed us that it was raining hard on the path to Crescent City so we voted to head up to Florence instead.

For lunch was stopped in Old Town Bandon (cool little place, kind of like Cannon Beach), everyone went their own way...Mike, Janie, Ashley & I opted for the Loft right on the water, good choice as the food was excellent.

Then it was up north using up gas for our stay in Florence at the River House Inn.

The Inn was just a short walk to old town Florence (cannon beach like area) full of interesting shops, restaurants & galleries. We dined at the Water Front Depot a restored building that was a depot back in the day. This building fell into the river but was pulled out & rebuilt, moved to its present location.

After dinner we all took a walk looking for ice cream...tasty.

Sunday was the trip home from Florence, most of the group headed up to Tillamook Creamery for Ice Cream, then home via 26, Ashley & I opted for Hwy 34 to Dallas to visit a friend of her's...the drive was almost clear of traffic which surprised us, but we where traveling in the late morning so maybe the vacationing group hadn't awaken yet.

Now usually these trips involved some kind of car adventure, but not this time...all the cars ran great, started when we wanted them to & used up $$ of gas as we expected...love being on the road, it's amazing.
