Anyone ever paint the hard brake lines? I was thinking of shooting them black just so they would blend with the chassis. No paint on the flares or fittings.

Also, did anyone put anything on the fitting threads? Do they need some tape or teflon paste?

Never painted them and would worry about getting paint on the sealing surface of the flair. Nothing required on the threads.

I used steel wool to polish them up a little and then clear coated with Eastwood's Diamond Clear. I taped off the threaded/flared portion.

Never use a sealer on flared fitting threads.

I used scotchbrite and then cleared them. Now you can buy black lines at your local napa store. I recommend engine paint or clear the fluid should you get any on there will ruin the cheap paints Bob

Anyone have any pics of painted or polished lines?

I painted mine in yellow and I like it. FYI I did not paint at the flare meaning that there is about 1/4'' unpainted each time there is a connection. You can barely notice it when the lines are in place.
