So here we are, 8 inches of heavy, wet snow on top of a nice slick coating of ice. I have 3 daughters here along with 3 son-in-laws and 5 grandchildren and nobody can get home. So I guess the 13 of us will have to find soft spots on the floor for those who don't get beds. I love New England winters....

I got lucky Joe. 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law, 2 son-in-law candidates and 2.90 (#3 due in 3 weeks) grandkids. Got 'em all out and on the road before it hit the south shore. Look at the bright side, you can send the son-in-laws out to do the driveway while you watch out the window with coffee in hand.

Let's see...it's 4:30 AM and I haven't quite made it to bed yet. One son-in-law has been trying to pass a kidney stone and I took him to the ER at midnite, then went back to get him at 3:30. So I'm thinking of going out now to get all my plowing done (3 kids houses and my subdivision-under-construction). I'll catch some sleep when they all go home, and still get 2 or 3 hours on the Cobra later tonight.

Quietest place for you now will be the plow truck. How much did you end up getting?

Good Morning to all of you 'UP EASTERS!'

Those of us in the beautiful South Florida are enjoying the passage of a Cold Front on Christmas Day. Today the temperature is in the upper 40's with super clear skys except the normal clouds to the East out over the Gulf Stream waters of the Atlantic Ocean where the surf temperature is a cool 78 degrees.

Oh, Yes. The palm trees are swaying to a light northerly breeze. It is absolutely beautiful here today.

;)

I drove up to New Hampshire this morning to do a little skiing at Waterville Valley in the Fresh Snow (Couldn't Resist). A Balmy 15 Degrees with 50 kt wind gusts (Thats about -15 F Wind Chill) and about 18" of new snow. Got 10-15 runs in the powder, then was back at work in Boston by Lunch Time!

I know you people that live in the sunny south and the left coast must feel pretty smug about now; but our ground does not shake and make our homes fall down and if they don't fall they don't get blown away in a huricane either!

I'll take the snow .....and yes, I do live in a condo made of stone. That way I have more time to work on my cars.

Enjoy your good weather!!!
