So I have been cleaning up my garage and going through some old boxes of junk. I found some slips I had from some hobby cars I built in the late 80's/early 90's. I found a receipt for tires I bought 6/13/90 - (4) BFG Radial T/A's 215/65/15 for $362.50, which at the time I thought was a good deal.

Tirerack price today $305 with shipping. Not bad for 12 years later. For a 24 year old only 2 years out of college that was a lot of money back then too. Look at the price of a 850 Holley DP carb - way more money now than then. I remember seeing them in the Summit ads for less than $200.

Well, it kinda depends on the tires too...
I recently replaced the rear tires on my wife's grocery getter, and they cost me over $300 a piece!

.....and I have a wholesale account at the tire rack! ....of course the fact that they were michelin pilot sport 275/35/18s may have something to do with it.
