Here are some pictures that I took this past summer of two original CSX 289 cars at Road America. I didn't get chassis numbers off of either car as the hoods were down, but I did spend quite a bit of time crawling around them, so let me know if you have questions about any of the pics and I'll do my best to provide an answer.

This one is a picture of the inner wheel well vent that looks into the area where the side pipes would be on a 427 car.

Did you notice the oil temp sticker? Normal operating temperature 125c, or 257f.

Thanks for the pics. I needed to know where the ebrake handle was located relative to the roll bar. Perfect timing

Just an FYI

Even with the hood closed the red car has the hinge covers off. The car number should be stamped in the hinge plate. Sometimes the wrong door numbers are on the car if another cars doors fit better. Point is you might be able to find the number on some of the good detail pics you shot and kindly shared.

lucas light switch?

Only 2 positions- Dim and off. I thought they had a 'flicker' setting too, at least my Spit-bolt did.
