Ok.. Have the seams completed and lots of spot filler were there and everywhere.. Question is what is the proper grit to use on the entire surface prior to shooting Featherfill or the like?

Can Featherfill be shot with a cheapo gun ( I have a general purp Sears) or should I gum up my nice new DeVilbis

Joe, sand the entire body with 150-180 before you prime. make sure there are no shiny spots. rinse the body off and check for the missed spots. once you think you have it, wash it with comet, scotchbrite, and rinse really well. don't use any solvents on the body before you shoot the featherfil as it doesn't like the residues. good luck, and ps, I am working on the hinges, just a little slow. I will for sure ship them out this week. cheers, SRP

Thanks Ken..

Comet after the sanding? Does the comet leave a residue?

I have Well Water which leaves water spots on my daily drivers.. Will this be an issue?

NO I am not going to use Evian as a prep!
