I'm tired of using hand signals so I'm gonna attempt to fix my turn signal problem tomorrow. I think I found my problem from reading a hell of a lot of old posts.
Heres what I'm gonna do, some please tell me if it's right.
From the wiring harness- both wires with diode attached into one wire on dash lamp. Other dash lamp wire to third prong on FFR supplied flasher.
Is this correct?
Also, does the harness plug attach to "X&P" or "L&P"?
Thanks again!

OK, I'm sure people will have different options. but here's the way I did it and it works. From the green light, take one wire to the middle pin of the flasher. Take the other wire from the green light to a positive (+) ing. source. Done.

Assuming the two diodes you refer to are installed on the two wires (W/LB and LG/W on '89 harness) that supply power to the turn signal indicator light, attach the other wire from the indicator light to ground. Reinstall the Mustang flasher unit. Done.
