any suggestions where to put the sending unit? I really dont want to punch a hole in the pan if at all possible. 351w gt40p heads

If you're using the remote oil filter relocater provided with the kit the piece that screws into the block has four threaded holes. Two are for the supply and return to the filter. I used one of the other two for the sender and plugged the fourth one.
I hung a 90 degree street ell on the remote filter housing then a tee with it's straight run pointing down. The side port of the tee is feed from the engine, the downward port has the sensor. The sensor down prevents an air bubble from forming around it.
