I hate to ask such a trite question, but did I look at the manual correctly? They show mounting the oil filter on the right side of the cross frame. A lot of pictures show the mountings on the left. My engine is already in, is this going to be a problem or is this just personal preference?

The only problem you are going to have is drilling the holes for the mount now that you engine is in unless you have a right angle drill. Otherwise, it is personal preference. The hose that FFR gives you will reach either way.
