I've been scouring the web to find a "nice" aluminum battery box. I mean one that is somewhere close to 11" long by 8" wide, by 8 or 9" tall (and reasonably ($60-$80) priced). They all, even the "marine" types, seem big enough to park a VW bus in. Any ideas??

I bought the Summit polished aluminum unit #SUM-890101
Aluminum Battery boxes It was a bit tall so I cut about 2 inches off the top and re-drilled the cable outlets. You will also need to re-locate the latches.

1.) Buy some aluminum and a small hand brake and bend/rivet one up.

I'm w/Ozona - I just made my own from .060" 6061-T3. Cost maybe $10 in scrap aluminum. You could use .040 (as used in FFR kit?) as well. Mine was isntalled below the trunk floor a la Weendoggy and Forrest Allen.

If you can find a shop with a shear and brake, see if they'll cut and bend it up for you. I can send pics and dimensions if you want.

Get the one from Taylor if you are going "pre-made" route... Do a search.. They range in price from $65 to 120 for the same part number so do your homework....

Thanks guys, I'm going to make one. The Taylor box is the one I was looking at, but its 13 1/2" long and the Summit one is 150.00! Soooo, I better get to work! Thanks again.
