Recently I've had the opportunity to see the rear suspension on a 95 Crown Victoria. The rear is 5-lug 8.8 with a Watts link (geometry is improved over the Fox 4 link), but the real news is that it uses rear disc brakes. :D I've been trying to find information on the CV rear disc brakes but no luck. From what I can tell these are standard from 95 up and may or may not be equipped with anti-lock brakes. On a car as big and the CV I would assume the rear discs would be around 11 inch. I would greatly appreciate any technical information on the CVs.

I think those setups are too wide but you could probably use the parts with some custom brackets.

The option I have not heard discussed that I think is very doable is ford explorer brakes. I am familiar with them since I have a 98 explorer 8.8 in my jeep cherokee here are the specs.

11 inch discs with internal drum e-brake setup (slick). 59 in wms to wms, same as a mustang! The housing bolt on flanges appear to be the same (quick check with tape measure)so it appears you could use regular 5 lug axles (aerostar, ranger etc.) with the explorer bracket, ebrake setup, dust shields and rotors. Essentially it sounds like the cobra setup, just alot more common.

one more thing the axles are 31 spline so you can't just put them in but if you are wanting 31 spline axles they just may fit.
