Hi, new to this forum but long a Cobra fan, and this looks like the kit to get, so...
I will be in New York end of this month for a few days, currently in the Gulf, but finally got a reprieve!
and I intend to drive up to FFR on arrival JFK, to see the factory, and ( probably) order one, but will there be completed cars at the factory? I have emailed them a couple times asking about a tour and also the chance of seeing a completed one, but no response, is this normal, or are they just slow/ backlogged?
Once one orders what is the approx delivery these days?
now the big ?`s I work pretty much everywhere but home, ( airline pilot) but I really want one of these, I live in Canada, Vancouver, so will have the kit delivered there, but I am based in the UK, and there for the foreseeable future. I will not be able to actually build anything for about a year, but I guess these never get cheaper so getting it now seems reasonable, and gives me time to get all the parts together anyway.
Just out of interest has anyone built one in the UK?
I also want to ask if here is a definative list of how to choose the options, and exactly what way to order the kit, how committed are you once you order?
OK, thats enough ?`s for now, this is an amazingly dynamic forum, so hopefully someone can answer my beginer questions, and I look fwd to sending positive order updates in the near future!

First of all welcome and I feel you have made the right choice.

The search button and the FAQ will answer a lot of questions for you. Almost everyone on this forum has been where you are in the kit process. It would take a while to answer all your questions again. I will give you some of the specific answers you asked for.

There are usually several cars there and I am not sure but I think the Septemberfest is coming up and you will see, hear and with a little luck ride in one.

Not making any excuses but they are swampped because of the recent newsletter delivery. E mail is a secondary form of communication to them. Just go on Saturday and enjoy.

In my opinion just wait until you get home. The cars make improvments all the time why short yourself some free goodies. Keep an eye on this and their website for any change in price. I have heard of no changes for the forseeable future.

Get your options nailed down BEFORE you order. Making changes makes for mistakes on the shipping. ORDER ONCE WITH EVERYTHING YOU THINK YOU WANT. Some of the little trim stuff can be changed but order the big items when you order the car.

I can only answer one of your questions: how long to get the kit? About a month for mine - ordered it 6/3, received it 7/6.

hello, and thanks for the responses. I suspected that the factory was kinda busy, based on this forum alone they have a great deal of work!
I will head up to the factory and that should answer most of my questions.
By the way, can anyone reccomend a decent hotel close to the factory, as I should probably try to pre book for the night before, I think it will be quite a drive from JFK up to the factory.
I will probably be posting that "I ordered" msg soon, although it may be a good point to wait till I can actually start building, still I do like the idea of having it stored, something to look fwd to!!
