Old alternator was working just fine(G3). It had a lot of miles on it from the '94 donor. I purchased a new one, powdercoated the case and installed it. I have an amp meter in the car and it charges just fine. It 2000 rpm's the needle bounces back and forth and the charge light comes on. Above 2000 rpm's the needle does not bounce but the charge light remains on?? Has anybody else had a similar problem?

Thanks

Dick: Your alternator sounds like it's acting just like mine. Mine is a "brand new" Autozone rebuilt which was bad right from the get-go. It will be going back to the store for testing later this week. Bob PS. Had it tested today (Tues) they performed two tests. Passed one and failed one. New alternator sitting in the garage waiting for installation. Best of luck.
