Hope someone can help. I am building an IRS car with 17" x 8" Bullitt wheels. The wheels are factory takeoffs. I am reasonably certain that the offset for the front will work, however when mounted on the rear IRS, the wheels will set too far into the wheel well. The wheels have a 6 3/4" back offset. In an attempt to get the wheel to fit in the wheel opening to my liking, I have made a 3/4" spacer. This spacer is reducing the offset to 6". I will be running 255/45/17 tires on the rear.
My request is for a volunteer with an IRS car that would allow me to test fit this set-up to see if I have made the spacer to the proper thickness. This test fit would only require the rear wheel to be removed from your car then my spacer and Bullitt wheel would be installed.
I am early in my build and only have the front and rear suspension in place. The body man has the body.
I live near Greensboro, NC (very close to Whitby MotorCars). If there is someone out there who would help me out on this I would appreciate it.
I may be able to bypass this exercise if someone with an IRS car knows their wheel offset, wheel width and tire size and can share photos of their car.
Thanks,
Tim
