Ok, I am able to get the engine started (4.6 3v), but it's a lot of work. Once it's running it seems strong, but, getting it to fire takes a while. I get a lot of "puffs" of smoke, but not many pops until the engine starts to warm. I'm running the Redline aftermarket system, so it's completely adjustable.
What would be a good A/F ratio for start up? Or timing Advance? Or anything else I should know?

I'm not up on specifics of 4.6's but I would try

AFR = 10 to 1 to start
AFR = 12.5 to run
Initial timing 10 deg before TDC
timing advances to 34 or so degrees by 3000 RPM

Once it is running we can go from there

Can you control cranking injector pulsewidth? If so, what size injectors?
