I have a new 86' mustang gas tank, fuel pump on the engine, Not in the tank. The tank is for a carb engine, It has no port for the pump in the tank. This is the same size tank as the injection tank but it only has the one port for the sending unit/fuel pick-up. Does anyone know where I can find a new sending unit? I remind you this is for a pump on the engine, not a fuel injection sending unit.

Thanks, Ron

I was slightly involved with the same kind of situation with a fellow FFR owner and am sure others can give you the correct part numbers for your application. I assume you need an assembly that contains both the fuel pick-up tube (no in-tank pump) and the fuel gauge sending unit. I believe we also need to know the type of fuel gauge you will be using as the sending units may vary in resistance.

In my friends case we ended up "splicing" a newer style standard sending unit onto and older fuel style tank fuel pick up assy. to obtain the correct operation of the fuel gauge.

Good luck

Vince, I will have to check out JEGS under their pichup line, Thanks.

Pat, I don't have the gauges ordered at this time, I will be using autometer gauges. Didn't think about the resistance, That is one more thing I'll have to look into, Thanks.
