I'm thinking we need a National FFR get together. This would be open to any FFR owner or future owner. So here are some questions:

1.) How far would you drive to come to an event?

2.) What time of the year would you like to have it?

3.) Would this be a problem for your work schedules: Thursday, Friday and Saturday would be socials, tech sections, dinners, county cruises, tours, etc. and Sunday-Monday would be a track event. Maybe an autocross one day and drag racing or road course the following.

4.) Would you pay $200-$250 per person to come to an event that included most of the meals, meeting rooms for tech sections, tours, a momento, social events, etc.? This would include the autocross, but maybe not the road course track day. That would be an extra $100-$150 each driver.

5.) Of the following cities, which would you like the best:
Austin, TX and Texas World Speedway
Columbus, Oh and Mid-Ohio
Atlanta GA and Road Atlana
Dallas, TX and Motorsports Ranch or Texas Motor Speedway
Laguna Seca
Sears Point
Phoenix and Firestone or Bonderants
Sebring, FL and Sebring Raceway

6.) How much of a notice would you need? 2 months, 3 months, 4 months or more?

Thanks!

One more thing, be sure you're listed on the Member Map so we can see the population of FFR's easier. Just click on the link above. Sign up even if you don't have a car yet, we need to know where we might be able to pull people from for an event.

Also, we would need help on things, any one want to jump up and say "me me me me"?

Texas or Phoenix would be more "central" to me and I'd go to either. Seems most of these events are left/right coast.

Las Vegas in the Fall would be fun, too.

Coming from the NorthEast

Ohio,
Atlanta,
Sebring,
Texas,
then Phoenix.

No way that most of us up here could make it to California. Texas might be the most centrally located of those mentioned, even though it is pretty far south.

I would participate and volunteer to help to the best of my abilities. I vote for the Texas locations or Atlanta. Springtime would be nice if we can miss the rain.

I think north Texas sounds good to me.

I live about ten minutes from Texas Motor Speedway. :D

If this event gets put together in the DFW area I have room for one extra
in the garage and a spare bedroom.

If the event is in a southern climate I vote for a fall get together.

Guys,
Isn't Tennesee about central in this great country? Well...FEDX thought so anyway! I love the roads in and around that state and there are a lot of great Hiways..I81-I40-I77-I24 and I75 to name some. we could drive down to DEALS GAP and and run THE DRAGON'S TAIL! It has 311 turns in 9 miles. Record is currently (last I heard) held by a RX7. Time was 9 minutes and that was flying for that road!
Anyway...Sebring is very good also Inman. I'll show up again.
Thanks,

Sounds good. We were planning on driving to the FFR open house this year, but cancelled at the last minute. I'd be in if it was no more than 3 days drive (okay, maybe more!) but need the long advanced notice.

You know, Memphis would be a good location. They have Memphis Motorsports Park which has a very nice road course and a dragstrip (plus three ovals to boot). I lived there for a couple of years and it would be a very nice place to gather.

Great idea Bill.

South/Central would be good. Spring time would be nice as long as where ever we pick has decent weather at that time. 3-4 months notice.

If this becomes a reality(Spring time) it may impact the FFR Open House and DVSF in a negative way. For me anyway. Personally, I think that FFR should drop the Open House and make an event such as this the "annual gathereing".

Another vote for Watkins Glen! An awesome track for these cars, great history and atmosphere. I think this is a great idea too anywhere you have it.

Lebanon Kansas! I don't know anything about it other than its the geographic center of the continental U.S.

I'd say it would have to be not to far east / west of there. According to mapquest That makes it 1580 Miles and 27 Hours From San Fran, and 1655 Miles and 28 Hours from Boston.

I'd say of the places mentioned, Texas is the best bet. Dallas would be 1759 Miles 29 hours from Boston, 1734 miles and 31 hours from San Fran. I'll drive it if we do it, and I bet its less than 29 hours!
