I just drove my donor car. 1995 mustang 5.0 cobra. Was hit in rear. Low miles. Very well taken care of prior to wreck. My question is, does the cobra 5.0 really only have 25 more horses than stock 5.0??? It seems have tons more pull than typical mustang. It is bone stock. Feels close to a supercharged 5.0 I drove years ago. I'm looking forward to what this power will be like in a car weighing 1000 lbs less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really doesn't have much more power than the standard 5.0. The difference you feel is the 3:27 rear gear instead of the 2:73 that came in the Fox chassis cars.

It can be modified to produce more power for less money since it already has a higher flowing intake, larger throttle body and larger injectors than the GT's motor. Decent flowing aluminum heads, shorty headers and a higher flowing fuel pump are all you need to get 300+ horses. There is an article in fordmuscle.com where they moded a 1993 Cobra and got great results.
