Stewart Transport delivered my kit yesterday to Bruce Chervanek in PA last night at 5PM. Now the fun begins as he transforms in into a very accurate looking 289 FIA.

Here is a partial list of the modifications he will make

- Fiberglass footboxes like the originals
- Fiberglass trunk pan like the originals
- Replace the "X" cross member with a transverse leafspring tower
- Forward bracing from the cowl to the leafspring tower
- Outriggers in place of the round tube that goes underneath the factory footboxes (this is to allow use of an original pedal box)
- Fit an Ididit steering column for a more period correct look
- 289 body with the dimpled trunk and more subtle rear flares like on Jim's car he is working on
- Engine moved forward 3"

My modifications will include the following

- Under floor pedal box
- Original throttle linkage
- Original throttle pedal from Cobra Restorers
- Original style radiator
- Original Harrison expansion tank
- Original style fuel fill splash guard from Nick Acton
- Original style 289 sidepipes
- Original firewall components and layout
- Original style 289 shifter made to fit a T5 trans (Cobra Restorers)
- Original SW mechanical gauges
- Vintage Wheels US pin drive wheels (preference for the 427 style wheels)
- Goodyear billboard tires

Engine
- 302 roller block bored and stroked to 331
- Painted all black like original 289's
- Restoration hardware engine fasteners
- Original water pump
- Original valve covers
- Original Weber dual inlet manifold
- Original fuel manifold (octopus)

Bruce and I will post pictures as soon as we can.

I've already decided on the paint scheme Jeff. Looking forward to having you make another masterpiece.

Does moving the engine forward negatively impact the weight balance of the car?

Just wondering because you built that monster small block.

Shouldn't change it much. The relocation positions the engine more like the original

Bill, you won't have any problems. I moved mine 3" forward.
