Anyone know anything about this mid engined supercar that FFR is developing? I e-mailed them to ask if they were releasing a GT-40. They said no...

Yeah if I knew more about it I might build it over the Ultima I have on Order. Come on FFR let us know more about this car and when its going to be ready. If you want to you can just tell me and maybe I will send you guys a deposit on one :D

A mid engine would be awsome. But at less than 2,200 lbs and with the gobbs of horse power that we like, how would we keep the front tires on the ground? We can always worry about that later.

I talked to David Smith last week and he said the car will be a mid-engine V-8 with Saleen S7 supercar performance levels, but with a retro 60's Le Mans look. He didn't say it was a GT-40. I doubt he can say that because Ford would go crazy if they make a replica like the GT-40.

I'm excited as you guys about a mid-engine car like a GT-40. I hope it looks close or better.

Supercharged,

I love that Ultima. The performance of that thing is amazing! When you get it we need to see some details!

Can't wait to see what FFR has to offer. Might be a bit out of my price range for a while, but I'm already starting a plan for a potential future purchase! Should be quite a bit less than the cost of an Ultima though.

the Ultima can be built much cheaper than you think. I looking to have around $45 K to $50 in the GTR. I know thats alot more than most cobras but not much more than mine so after selling my cobra I will not have to come up with much more money to complete a GTR.

Rick Williams brought up a good point about FFR saying they are not building a GT-40. They would have to call it something like a FFR Type 40. On the Cobra Forum word has it that they just received a GT-40 from the west coast for R&D purposes. If they took delivery from the West coast, my guess is they have a Roaring Forties GT-40. They are out of Aussie for those who haven't heard of them. Our friend Gordon Levy is the American distributor for them.

Hey Gordon, spill the beans please!

Wayne,
If you're arms aren't too sore from flying across the country, I would be interested in your thoughts on this. Scott

I think that the new mid engine car will be really nice. The 250 California is almost completely done, and I can't really say anymore than that on the subject. But there will be official news very soon.
