Anyone have any ideas on how to clean some melted plastic wire conduit off of my ceramic coated header? Anyone?

It will burn off. You can scrape some off with a wooden scraper. If you have ceramic coating I have had some success with WD40 and a very fine Scotchbrite pad, I suggest testing first.

I got melted car cover off my sidepipe by using a can of quick freeze (electrical circuit tester) and a wooden tongue depressor. Freezing the plastic makes it shrink and become brittle and it chips off pretty easy. I used the tongue depressor so as not to scratch the coating.

Wait till headers hot and use a paint stirrer to remove the bulk then quick wipes of a rag to remove the rest. Once cool laquer thinner followed by semi chrome polish. Did this when my timing light pick up melted to the header...again.

Thanks guys. My buddy had suggested WD40. I'll try that and the laquer thinner. Thanks again.
