When installing my Mcleod Bell housing I encountered an issue with some of the mounting bolts not able to fit to the block plate. They are the top two bolts on the driver side next to the top bolt hole in the block plate. I cannot install them because they will hit the AFR heads. Has anyone encountered this....is it even an issue since these bell housing are supposed to meet many different Ford applications? Someone told me the same thing happens with the Lakewood bell housing and it will be fine without these installed. Looking for some reassurance. Thanks

I had this problem and had to remove the backing plate and put the top bolts on before mounting the backing plate to the engine, then they fit. I know there was one that would not fit no matter what. Will that work for you?

Had the same problem with mine. Asked Mike Forte about it and he said just leave them out. I've seen several pictures of other builds that didn't have them installed as well.
