Thought I would start a thread about tools we may want for our garages.... I was asked yesterday what I would like for christmas... I thought... Geee.... I'm Not sure....

So, I thought I would ask all of you to hel make a list of items that we may tell people when they ask all of you that same question. Maybe if this list gets long we can add part numbers and where to get the item!

PS.. These items need not be expensive...

:D

1. Mechanics Gloves
2. Timing Light
3. Compression Tester

Etc....

I want (but am sure I won't get :( ) a
pullman/holt ES2000 automatic floor scrubber.

These are the self contained machines you walk behind that soap-scrub-rinse-& dry the floor as you walk behind it.
They are used alot in grocery stores and sure would be great for keeping the floor in the shop clean..... ...especially during the snow/slush months.

One of these days, I'll get my hands on one of these machines. They are cool, if you have a fairly large space to keep clean.

I also would love to have an old forklift.
A bud of mine has one at his shop and uses it all the time. He even has a trailer hitch ball on one of the forks so he can move trailers around with it. His shop is pretty tall and he has 4 old MGAs stacked on this giant shelving set up in his shop.

I guess my shop wish list is a little more "industrial" than most.

Since our "End of Summer Sale" was so successful, FFCars.com is going to have another sale. This one's going to be a "Christmas Sale". It will be held during the first week of December. Several vendors have already been sending me their lists, but this seems like a great thread to give ideas to the vendors.

I'm wid ya! I know some of the things my wife has been eyeballing is in the finishline catalog.

- Car Cover (hahah still painting the bare frame)
- Billet shifter knob
- Emblems
- One piece steering shaft
- AC Pedals

I also need new clutch/pressure plate, throw out bearing, water pump, timing chain & gears, timing chain cover, etc etc. But, I think I'll go buy them myself. Unless there's a Santa out there that wants to send them to me? :D :D

Is the overrating a problem with only CH, or others as well? The only problem that I have with going used is that I don't want it to be all beat up, and I can't really imagine that there'd be THAT many used 60 Gal Upright compressors for sale around here. Do you know of any National locations for the other brands you mentioned? There's a HF in my town, so I wouldn't have to have it shipped, and at 250+ lbs  , that's a good thing.

Problem is those other brands are going to cost you alot more then that new. You get what you pay for. I bought a 5hp speedaire at auction with a 60gallon tank, dual stage, for $150. Looks like crap and is about 30 years old but works amazing and blows the doors off the craftsman "5hp" i had previously. Craftsman and CH tend to rate things funny. FYI a real 7hp single phase motor would weigh over 100# just for the motor and would be about the size of a 5 gallon pail.
