There was a post months ago about dust boots from energy suspension from a Mustang for the tubular
lower A-arms. Someone else posted that the ball joints (screw in's) are a Chrysler unit. Will the Mustang dust boot fit the Chrysler ball joints and are the ball joints actually Chrysler? What about the uppers, anybody know what they are from? Part numbers for upper, lower ball joints and boots appreciated as well as what vehicles they may be from.

Yes, the screw in ball joints are a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth unit. They are still made and available. Yes, ES has a boot that will fit the joint both upper and lower with the tubular arms (I have them on mine). I also have a few tapered sleeves for the old lowers that will raise the ball joint about 3/8" and not split the stock boots you get.

I have the SN95 Spindles and continued to crack/split the grease boots on the front end lower ball joints. The tapered bushings work excellent to raise the spindle off of the lower A frame so that it allows a sufficient space for the grease boot. So far no signs of cracking like several times before. Perhaps a non-rubber boot would also help here. Weendoggy, does the lower and upper ball grease boots come from Energy Suspension. I know that the 'correct' rubber ones come only with the ball joints themselves so my auto parts guy says.

Yes,

Breeze offers a ball joint adaptor sleeve kit. They are for the "old" style FFR lower arms which can be identified by the screw-in style ball joints (look same as uppers) when used with the SN-95 spindles. Part number for the kit of two is 70037, Price is $24.

The tapered pieces I have are made from 4140 steel. Dimensions are: .997 high, .721 OD at top taper and .825 OD at the bottom. Thickness is approx. .031 They will raise the spindle (SN95) about 3/8" from the lower arm.

I have about 20 sets of these and will let them go for $20 inluding shipping. If you don't like them, send them back. If you keep them, send $$. These are for the old style lower arms with the threaded ball joints.

The Energy Suspension part is 13102G from Sumitt Racing.

I will probably be using stock 87-93 Mustang LCAs with SN95 spindles. My question is, does this crushing of the boot occurs with this setup? if so, can I use your tapered sleeves?

I believe it's only an issue with the FFR lower tubular and SN95 spindles. The stock lower uses a different ball joint.
