Have freshly built 1965 289 in FFR2378K. Engine has new Motorsport 302 crank. Can't get the rear main to stop leaking. On third seal, and you would not want me parking in your driveway. I am using the two-piece seal that is correct for the block. What did I do wrong?

This may be an obvious one but you didn't elaborate so I'll ask. When you put the new seal in, did you leave about 3/8 in. sticking out on one side so that the seal ends were not aligned with main cap face? If you didn't(in other words, the gaps were lined up) then that may cause the seal to leak (trust me I know!)....

if you using the hard teflon 2 piece there is a "front" and "rear" orientation. It will be a little piece of paper with the seal if its this type. We also use a Loctice sealant under the cap ends to ceap them from leaking.
