It would seem that despite replacing the bearings and upgrading my T5, it still leaks from the front between the bellhousing and the front of the transmission. I am looking for a junked T5 circa early 90's or its case where I can swap in my parts. Perhaps even the front half of the case will do. PM me your offerings!

Thanks,
Marc

Marc, Really the only place up that that could be leaking is the snout... Seems like $50 for a new steel one, and a seal would do the trick. I read a post that on many of the replacement snouts the seat is too low and if you bottom out the seal it will leak for sure.

That said - you can have my rebuilt, but "not quite right" T5 for $400.

BTW - if somebody else is interested, PM me know and I will provide details.

Thanks for the offer, I'll have to consider it. I've found a guy that has a case. I was thinking that I could swap the components from mine to the new case (front housing).

When I upgraded my transmission, I replaced the "snout" and main bearing seal. I still have the same leak. I thought that it might be overfilled, and that was not the case. I've got to believe that it's some kind on hairline crack in the case. I'm baffled and a bit pissed as you kow it's not the easiest thing to do in removing and replacing the tranny in these cars (MkII).

Your thoughts?

I feel like I'm getting close.....
