What is the easiest way to remove the rubber bushings from the IRS knuckles?

Worked well for the first set of spindles bad the all thread did not last. Will need to get another for the 2nd set

I took mine to a local brake shop and had them press the factory bushings out and install the poly bushings, he charged me $100. From some of the posts I read on doing with it with hand tools, I thought it was money well spent.

Buy a shop press from harbor freight. Best $100 you will ever spend. It has a hundred uses on a project like these. A shop press and some creativity and you can press almost anything in or out.

OK, this is just ridiculous. What is better than buying and new press....Borrowing one to put in my garage.

So after maybe 5 min to determine the height to set the platform and lining up the make shift push rod etc. It took another 45 sec to press out the first bushing! The 2nd and third took even less time!

The tool from the FFR - (link above) is kinda cool, but Oh My Goodness!

Here is how I did it..

The bearing was a bit harder but finally went in.

That looks great JJ, except we were removing the bushings to install new spherical bearings

i did the spherical bearings and got tired of messing with the grease and o rings so am now using teflon bearings from fk, their bestest and expensive, should last a while and no headaches, hopefully. summit should be carrying these now.
