Been reading this forum for a year now. The "HONEY DO" list is done. The anniversary present is coming late this year, but the best Christmas ever is coming early on November 10th when I pick up my GTM kit. I'm looking forward to interfacing with everyone on the forum. Right now I looking for insights on what to look for at pickup time. Thanks!

66NovaSS,

Welcome to the GTM world! As someone here said, it will be the best headache you ever had.

Are you doing a donor build or new/used pallet parts?

There are plenty of things you will need. My advice - buy them only when you really need them. I purchased so many accessories early on in my build, and then ended up not using them as new/better ideas came along. Look through pictures of completed builds and figure out what you like, what you don't, and how much what you like will cost you.

Good luck!

Congrats!!
Just take it one phase at a time. It's easy to get overwhelmed if you look at everything that has to be done. Just take care of one job at a time. I don't know your build experience but you can ask anything here. There are no dumb questions. Everyone that can help, will.
The more buid sites you look at, the harder it will be to stay on budget. But it's just money, you can always make more.
Welcome and good luck.

Welcome to the madness.

I would echo doing one thing at a time.

Now, if you have purchased the AC unit, install the evaporator unit first. It will save you some grief.

The other thing I would suggest is breaking down the tasks by major system (e.g. fuel, engine, electrical, chassis etc...) and work on each job. Super Car Build: Categories - Build Phase

I would ignore the clock, you'll be happier if your don't pressure yourself with an articifial deadline.

Best!

Thanks for all the ideas. I'm presently searching for a donor. No Luck yet. The E-Rod LS 3 has been ordered. Need to get the Mendeola ordered. I understand that Mendeola is getting a 3rd production run going with a 4 month delivery time.
Why is it that Factory five is having halo height issues?
Thanks again

the halo part of the frame evidently gets welded in with no jig, therefore the interference problems with the body are a hit and miss from car to car. if it has interference between the halo and the body, and the body doesn't lay flat on the square tubing at the doorsills, i'd refuse it. otherwise, you'll be having to fix it yourself. being brutally honest, i'm dissapointed in ffr for several issues with the gtm. i expected more, with all the hype about their frame jigs and computer aided design. it's not a big deal to do major mods for some of us, but the poor guy without these skills still has to fix something that should have been right in the first place. i picked my car up at the factory with a van/car trailer. it took all the room i had to get all the boxes in. p.s. got any pics of the 66 nova? always been a 60's nova and chevy II fan.
