Bill - I've seen the EXACT same bracket at Autozone for about $1.99. I heard of others breaking, so I made my own out of a piece of 1/4" x 1" aluminum bar stock. Drilled and tapped for the license plate bolts. Drilled and countersunk for flat-head 1/4"-20's to bolt it to the trunk where the old bracket was. Works great and much beefier!
There are several laying in the desert at Willow Springs. They break.
After seeing a couple original 427 SCs with the license plate bolted directly to the aluminum deck lid I figured that method would be good enough for an FFR. It works.
