Can anyone tell me how I can ID the year of my engine.
I thought and was told it's an '88, but the water pump that I took from it is a spare part for an '85. :eek:
Now I would like to know if I got §$&%§... :mad:

Thanks,

Olivier

FYI
Casting #
B=50's
C=60's
D=70's
E=80's

Then tack on the number after the letter for the year

D2AE would be a 1972 block

Howdy,

On your block, there is a small pad that will look like a slotted screw at both ends w/ number, letter, then 2 numbers. I have a 351C block that has 0K28. This is for 0=1970 K=11th month...Nov, 28= 28th day. So my block was casted Nov 28, 1970, which means it was installed in a '71 Ford.

So.... for an engine built for an 88 model, your tag should read something like....7H21 or maybe 8C14. Just read your code. It will start with either a 7 or an 8 if it's '88.
