I found a source for tan carpet on the internet and I'm thinking about buying it as roll goods and using the kit pieces as a template. How much carpet should I buy for the car? How much for the trunk?

This is a function of the bolt width of the carpet you plan on buying. Do you have the kit carpet for templates already? If so, start trying to lay them out in the most economical way while staying within the width of the stock you plan to buy. With some messing around you can save an extra 1/2 a yard. Once done you will have your answer.

Thanks 2. I was looking for the easy way out (again) so that I could order the carpet from work. So many things get in the way of my good intentions of working on the car once I get home that it might be a week before I get to it. The carpet is only $20/yd, so I don't have to be exact.

If I were going to carpet the trunk, think about cutting a piece that fits exact and then getting the edges bound. Could look kool and you can still show off the aluminum underneath whan you want!

I want to do the same as you. Once you get your tan carpet and determine that it matches your upholstery (leather tan from FFR, I assume), do you mind dropping me an e-mail with the details (how much you bought, who you got it from, etc), or just posting it here?

I found this place in the internet that seems to have everyhting for interior upholstery: http://www.atrim.com/. They have several lines of carpet and offer many colors. Seems cheap enough at $20/yd. Since no responses on amount needed, I guess I'll lay out the FFR supplied pieces and come up w/ my onw nyumber when I get time.

I'm not trying to match FFR leather, but just covered my dash in leather and I'd like to match that. Have not yet decided about the seats.

But, its still unclear how much to order. Gordon said to get 8 running yards. But, never did say how wide that was or if that includes carpet for the trunk.

I ended up just using the factory carpet. Looks Fine (to ME). I figured that if i wanted better carpet later, i could use the ffr stuff as underlayment.
