I have my body sitting in the 100 degree heat in texas now. I am wondering how many days it should take to cure it? I figure the body surface temperature to be 115-125 degrees.

I am asking becuse I don't want to leave the body outside while I am at work for any longer than needed.

Thank You

Here is what I do. I wash the body really good with comet and scotchbrite and then sand it with 180 dry. let it sit for about a week in the sun. here in Norcal it's about 90-110 most of the summer. in the winter, let it sit for a few weeks like that. cutting the surface with 180 will help it offgas. hope this helps. cheers, SRP

Thanks SRP I washed the car and sanded it but was unsure how long I should let it sit in the sun. The advise that you give really makes me more comfortable doing the body work myself.

Thank You

Cody,
I left my car out in the Phoenix sun all summer this year when working on the frame during the weekends. Many days >100. I didn't follow SRP directions exactly, I thought all the outgassing had to be done. Well I started sanding this week and can really smell the fumes still coming out of the glass. So I guess it really is important to "cut it open" then bake.

Mike

SRP FAQ section is really helping me believe I can do the bodywork. At least I have enough info to at least try with his information
