Hi from the UK.

I'm Marty. I've joined to source information on building my 1994 351W block.

I'm building a AK or Dax 427 cobra and would like to get my standard bore 351W up to stroker 427.
Just don't know if it's a good idea as I won't be strip racing or anything. Just general driving and a good blast when the roads are quiet.

To be honest reliability is my main goal.

I assume I'm sounding stupid?

Anyway please to meet you all.
I'm off to scour through the search function.

Marty

Greetings Marty and welcome aboard from across the pond. Stretching a Ford 351W block to 427 cu. in. (7 liters) is possible. A stroker kit uses a lengthy 4.170" stroke to yield 427 cubic inches. As expected, because of this stroke, this motor will be very bottom-end heavy and is best suited for applications such as street cars, tow rigs, and trucks where RPMs will be somewhat limited. If you want a higher reviving engine It takes an aftermarket block like Dart .

The 351 should be plenty of motor for spirited fun driving, or just out cruising. Save yourself the cost of building a stroker, for the expensive UK petrol, so you can drive more often..;)

What part of the UK are you in?
